Search "Twitch overlay" and you will hit two different products. Live data widgets track buyers and comps. A branded show kit is the look of the stream: type, color, sold states, boards. Both can sit in OBS. They do different jobs.

Two kinds of "overlay"
Data widgets (leaderboards, comps, live stats) answer "who is spending" and "what sold." Brand kits answer "whose show is this" and "can I read the board." Sellers sometimes buy a widget and wonder why the stream still looks generic. You can run both. Do not confuse them.
What reads on a phone
A vertical feed is unforgiving. Type that looks fine on a 27-inch monitor dies on a pocket screen. Before you fall in love with a mockup, ask four checks.

- A clear sold or claimed state.
- One brand color that repeats, not a rainbow UI.
- Card and facecam left readable.
Why Twitch templates look cheap on Twitch or Kick
Most Twitch packs are 16:9. stream is 9:16. Cropping a horizontal template leaves dead space, tiny type, and collisions with the platform's own chat, bids, and chrome. Buyers feel it even if they cannot name it.

Animated vs static
Motion helps on claimed spots, sold flashes, and short ReSpin cues. Constant looping glitter fights the card. Animate the state change. Keep the resting board calm.

- Starting scene with show identity.
- Live overlay frame that leaves the card open.
- Break board or scoreboard matched to format.
- Sold / claimed / BRB states as needed.
- Ending or next-show card.

How to judge a kit before you pay
- Ask for a phone screenshot of the live scene, not only a desktop mockup.
- Check claimed vs open contrast on the board.
- Confirm 1080 x 1920, not a cropped Twitch file.
- Ask what is static vs animated, and why.
- Make sure platform chrome was considered, not ignored.
