Pick Your Team and Stash or Pass boards for live streams

Live rooms name the formats: Pick Your Team, random, Stash or Pass, Pick 2 Choose 1. Break Manager teaches you how to run them in the app. This post is about the graphic the room stares at while spots fill.

If buyers cannot tell claimed from open in two seconds, chat slows down and you lose pace. Custom boards exist so the format state is louder than decoration.

Format names, one line each

• Pick Your Team: buyer claims a team or slot. Board must show claimed vs open with zero guesswork.
• Random: assignment lands after the break logic. Graphic needs a clear reveal moment, not a quiet text swap.
• Stash or Pass: pass and stash are different decisions. States must not look like two similar greens.
• Pick 2 Choose 1: two options in play, one kept. Layout should not read as a normal PYT grid.

What the graphic must do

Claimed vs open has to be obvious from the back of a phone. High contrast beats fancy borders. Team or slot labels need size. If you show price, keep it secondary to the claim state.

Random reveal needs a beat buyers can see. A soft fade that nobody notices wastes the moment. Pass and stash need distinct shapes or colors so chat does not argue about what just happened.

Team switch or ReSpin moments deserve a short motion cue if you animate. Not a full cartoon every click. Motion on the state change. Calm on the resting board.

On-stream board vs off-board

On-stream boards are for buyers. They stay phone-first and leave room for the card and platform chrome. Off-board is the denser control surface you use between pulls. Mixing those jobs on one messy layer is how shows get confusing.

Examples that work

NFL 32-team PYT grids, NBA scoreboard layouts, and Pokémon set boards all share one rule: the format state is louder than decoration. We use leagues as examples inside the kit, not as separate thin pages per team.

Sports grids often look like scoreboards. TCG boards track set and chase structure. Do not force a 32-team sports layout onto a set break. Match the format you actually sell.

Checklist before you go live

• Claimed and open read on a real phone.
• Pass and stash (if you run them) are not the same color blob.
• Reveal moment is visible, not a tiny label change.
• Board does not sit under chat, bids, or the card.
• Off-board controls are separate from the buyer-facing board.
