Sold, giveaway, and alert overlays for Twitch
How to design sold, giveaway, and alert moment graphics so chat reads the state in one glance.
Break nights are a sequence of states: open, claimed, pulling, sold, giveaway, next spot. If those states look the same, chat argues and pace dies. This post is about the small graphics that mark those moments on a Twitch or Kick stream.
The platform already draws bids and chrome. Your job is the brand layer: sold flashes, pull emphasis, giveaway callouts that read on a phone without covering the card.
Sold states
Sold should be unmistakable for one beat, then get out of the way. A short flash or stamp works. A looping celebration that never ends fights the next pull.
- High contrast wordmark or stamp.
- Same brand color family as the rest of the kit.
- Does not sit on the card corners buyers need.
- Clear enough that late joiners understand the last result.
Pull moments
The pull is the product. Overlays should frame it, not decorate over it. Soft vignette, clean top bar, or a quiet brand rail is enough. Save heavy motion for after the card is readable.
If you use pull cards or hit cards as separate art, keep type huge and the photo honest. Fake sparkle does not replace a clear shot of the card.
Giveaways
Giveaways need a different voice than sold. Buyers should know this was free or promotional, not a paid spot result. Use a distinct color or label. Keep rules short on screen. Long legal text belongs in chat or a pinned post, not over the card.
On multicast or setups with stream giveaway UI, leave room. Do not stack your giveaway art on top of theirs.
How states fit the kit
- Resting live scene stays calm.
- Sold or giveaway fires as a short state.
- Return to resting before the next spot.
- Board claim updates stay readable the whole time.

Mistakes to avoid
- Sold and giveaway looking identical.
- Motion that never stops.
- State art covering the card face.
- Twitch alert packs that ignore 9:16 safe areas.
