Build a simple brand kit for stream overlays

Pick colors, fonts, and logo rules once so Twitch and Kick overlays, alerts, and screens stay consistent.

On this page

A brand kit is a short rules sheet, not a 40-page deck. Lock colors, type, and logo use once. Every overlay, alert, and screen pulls from the same list.

Do this before you redesign scenes. Free Audit is useful when you already have a logo but no clear palette or type pairing.

1. Color roles (required)

Name roles, not vibes. Hex codes beat mood words. Keep the live canvas at 1920×1080 in mind: high contrast wins on phone players.

  • Primary: main brand color for frames and accents.
  • Secondary: support color for labels and panels.
  • Ink: dark text that stays readable on light plates.
  • Highlight: one bright accent for alerts and CTAs only.

2. Fonts that survive compression

  • One display font for short labels (Starting Soon, LIVE).
  • One clean sans for names, timers, and chat-adjacent type.
  • Avoid thin weights for anything under 36px at 1080p.
  • Test titles at phone width before you bake the pack.

3. Logo rules

Decide clear space, min size, and whether the mark sits top-left, top-center, or inside a lower third. Same placement across starting, live, BRB, and ending.

  • SVG or transparent PNG master file.
  • One mono or light version for dark backgrounds.
  • Never stretch. Scale uniformly.

4. What to skip

You do not need five gradients and a custom icon set on day one. Ship a tight kit, then expand. Discord is the place to share a one-page brand note if you want a second set of eyes.

If a color fails on a phone screenshot, it fails for half your audience. Fix contrast before polish.
