Stream thumbnail checklist for Twitch and Kick
A practical checklist for stream thumbnails that stay readable in the directory and on mobile.
On this page
Thumbnails sell the click before the overlay sells the stay. Treat them like a poster, not a screenshot dump.
Checklist
- One clear subject (face, character, or game moment).
- High contrast between subject and background.
- Title under 4 words if you use text.
- Readable at phone size.
- Consistent series look if you stream the same game weekly.
If you need to squint at 20% zoom, rewrite the type or crop tighter.
Need overlays, panels, alerts, or a full OBS package sized for your stream?
